What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion treatments use a minimally abrasive instrument to gently sand your skin, removing the thicker, uneven outer layer.

There are several microdermabrasion systems.  We use two different systems ,one of them is  utilizing   diamond tip wands “diamond microdermabration“to exfoliate the skin ,while the other one is the “hydrodermabrasion” which is the latest skin technology. It utilises the natural healing power of water and oxygen to effortlessly exfoliate the skin with deeply hydrating effect.

In general, microdermabrasion treatments exfoliate the skin removing the sun damaged dead  skin and thus leave your skin smoother, softer and with a fresh more youthful looking glow.Other benefits include reduction of scars, dark spots and skin discoloration. Also this type of treatments improves the blood flow and the lymphatic drainage of the skin which enhances the the production of collagen.

Treat acne and the scars left by acne.

How does it work?

Dermabrasion helps to thicken your collagen, which results in a younger looking complexion. Collagen is a protein in your skin that’s abundant when you’re a child and makes skin appear taut and smooth. Collagen production declines as we age, resulting in looser, uneven skin. There is no down time or recovery period following dermabrasion.

What can I expect after a microdermabrasion treatment?

After the treatments, a special moisturizer might be recommended or facial product to enhance and prolong your result. Any discomfort experienced as part of dermabrasion is usually short-lived.

Some people might experience redness and swelling, which should subside within a few hours.

Additional risks include:

  • Bruising, which can occur from the suction and may last several days.

  • The skin will be more sensitive to sun exposure. Be sure to use sunscreen, especially immediately following a dermabrasion session.

The polished new look should be long-lasting, depending on the severity of your skin damage and the number of treatments that you receive. Many people have  microdermabrasion treatment every two weeks at the beginning  and then one every four weeks as part of a maintenance plan.
